Australian Death Notification Service
The ADNS allows you to notify multiple organisations online that someone has died so their accounts can be closed or transferred.
Notify multiple organisations online
The Australian Death Notification Service (ADNS) has partnered with NSW Trustee and Guardian and a number of other organisations to simplify the process of notifying multiple organisations that someone has passed away.
The service matches details about a person who has died against the Australian Death Check (ADC). The ADC holds the death registration data recorded by Birth, Deaths and Marriages registries across Australia.
This service uses the information that appears on a death certificate and matches it to the ADC system. Once matched, users can choose which organisations they wish to notify, and provide their own contact details for any next steps.
The link below will take you to the ADNS website, where you will be asked to provide further information.

Please note the service is only applicable if a death certificate has been issued in Australia.

The ADNS was launched in June 2020 with the major banks. Thereafter, the major telecommunications organisations joined the ADNS, and utilities, insurance and superannuation organisations as well as a broad range of private, Federal, State and Local government agencies are progressively being onboarded.
